Convert ISO to MKV for Plex Server with full audio & subtitle tracks

“Hey guys, I have around 50 .iso files on my server, which unfortunately Plex does not support. So I want to convert all of them to MKV files but don’t want to lose any V/A quality as well as the subtitles, switchable audio tracks. Any help with a step by step guide?”

For HD movie fans, a powerful media center is so important for that it should be able to link your computer, media server and all kinds of home video playback devices seamlessly. Plex Media Server is such a complete solution for streaming media from your computer to your TV or various mobile devices in your home. This app not only work with multiple platforms like Windows, Mac, Android, and Linux but also have a full compatibility with most main stream product lines in home media filed like Roku, Samsung, Vizio, LG, Xbox, PlayStation, etc. It plays media from a variety of different sources.

For users who just want a 1:1 conversion of each ISO to watch on Plex and don’t care much about the storage, lossless MKV is definitely the best choice. However, Plex does not support the use of ISO, IMG, Video_TS, BDMV, or other “disk image” formats in consideration for pirating issues and local laws. So how to bypass the main obstacle to ripping the ISO files with the copy protection that now sits on every disk?

What you need is a software app that could read ISO well, then kick the copy protection to one side and remux into MKV without quality loss to play on Plex server. Here is how come Pavtube ByteCopy, an efficient ISO Converter on both Windows and Mac OS, which is specially designed for users who want to rip BD/DVD ISO images files with multiple audio tracks and subtitles.

How to Lossless Convert ISO to MKV for watching on Plex?

Step 1. Run ISO to Plex Converter and import ISO image files.

Click “Load disc” icon, choose “Load IFO/ISO” and search for the path where you save the ISO files. Note Pavtube can read ISO directly so no need to run virtual disk drive to mount.

Step 2. Choose lossless MKV as target format

Click the format bar to follow “Multi-track Video” and “Lossless/encoded Multi-track MKV (*.mkv)” because it will contain chapter markers in the output video.

Step 3. Adjust V/A settings

Click “Settings” to enter Multi-track video profile window; switch to “Video” and find the “Encode” box which is unchecked by default, so if you want a lossless MKV copy, do not touch it.

Step 4. Start backing up Blu-ray/DVD ISO to MKV

Click the big “Convert” to start ISO to MKV conversion. The conversion speed also depends on your computer configuration. Since the movies are remixed to MKV directly without transcoding, the conversion should complete in a short time. After conversion, click “Open” or “Open output folder” to quick locate converted files.

Ok now the lossless MKV files are prepared; transfer them to your hard drive or NAS to stream it to Plex Media Server, now you can enjoy Blu-ray and DVD movies on TV with exactly the same quality as original!

How to convert Blu-ray/DVD for playback on the Roku 3 through USB stick

According February 8 Sohu digital news, if you plan to buy a streaming media player, then you can choose any one of the three products in the following: Chromecast, Roku and Apple TV. They are not the only commercially available streaming media players, but it is the most popular - mainly because of the price that several devices are under $ 100 , along with a very high value for money .
If I can only recommend a streaming media box, then I would choose Roku 3. For the following reasons:

The Good

The Roku 3's excellent interface and speedy processor makes it feel quicker and more responsive than any other streaming box. More than 1,000 channels are supported, including Netflix, Amazon Instant, HBO Go, Hulu Plus, Pandora, MLB.TV, Amazon Cloud Player, Vudu and (finally) Youtube. It also has cross-platform search that scours several major TV and movie services to find content. And Roku's nifty remote has a built-in headphone jack that lets you listen without disturbing others.

The Bad

The Apple TV still works better within the Apple ecosystem. And the Roku 3 isn't the best option if you're mostly looking to stream your personal digital media collection.

The Bottom Line

The Roku 3 is the best streaming-video box yet, with tons of content sources, lightning-fast performance, and an innovative remote with built-in headphone jack.

Tips: If you want to know more about streaming media player like Chromecast, Roku and Apple TV, click here

As a mighty streaming video machine, you don't have to rely on the Internet to play videos on your Roku 3 —you can do it from a USB drive. The Roku 3's USB port opens up the option of playing video files from any USB drive, whether that's a USB stick or a full portable hard drive.

Here recommend the Pavtube BDMagic, which is one of the best BD/DVD disc handling tools on the market. After conversion, you can stream Blu-ray/DVD movies to your USB stick. And you also can stream Blu-ray/DVD movies through Roku 3 to HDTV or Samsung Galaxy Tab, or other DLNA-compliant devices.

Let’s Stream iTunes Rental and Purchased Videos via Roku 3 easily

Roku manufactures a variety of digital media receivers that allow customers to access internet streamed video or audio services through televisions. I can stream NetFlix and download movies from Amazon with my new bought Roku 3. I was wondering if anyone knows if the Roku will play movies I have purchased in iTunes. If it’s possible to stream movies i have stored on my computer (which i have loaded into the iTunes Library) to my Roku Box?

When it comes to iTunes contents, Apple TV is dominant over other popular streaming boxes, like Roku 3 and Chromecast, or Nexus Player, which just works in Apple ecosystem to let you stream iTunes videos from other iDevices. Since iTunes movie are DRM embedded files, if you want to import your iTunes purchases and rentals on Roku 3 directly, that’s no way. Don’t worry, take a few seconds to see What format can play on RoKu 3.

A USB port enables local media playback (supported formats include: MP4 (H.264) & MKV (H.264) video / AAC & MP3 audio / JPG & PNG image) on Roku 3. iTunes movies format is M4A or MOV, music format is M4A, so for playing iTunes on RoKu 3, we have to strip DRM from the iTunes first, and convert iTunes m4v media files to Roku 3 friendly video format through USB.

To do this, just get a top DRM remover- and accomplish your task in a few mouse clicks!Pavtube ChewTune, well compatible with Windows (Windows 8.1/8), is an intuitive and stable DRM converter to help you bypass DRM of iTunes both purchased and rented movies and then convert these M4V videos to MP4 that supported by Roku 3 for streaming and enjoying anywhere you like. (Read Best DRM Removal and Converter Software Review

Free download the DRM converter and make your iTunes movies playable on Roku USB Channel without any hassle! (Note: Mac users can turn to the mac version: Pavtube ChewTune for Mac to do the task)

Few tips before starting the iTunes to Roku 3 conversion:

1. The DRM removing process may mislead your anti-virus software to falsely report virus/worm. Please ignore the report to keep on ripping.

2. This product cannot convert unplayable video (damaged, unauthorized, etc).

3. Allow the audio driver installed during the Pavtube ChewTune installation.

4. Close iTunes before running the Pavtube DRM Removal Converter when converting iTunes M4V movies.

5. It would take as long as the source movie length for the whole iTunes contents to Roku 3 conversion process since Pavtube ChewTune records source DRM files in 1:1 video and audio quality.

How to Remove DRM-protection from iTunes movies to Roku 3 channel?

Step 1. Add iTunes movies to the iTunes DRM Converter

Install and run Pavtube iTunes to Roku 3 Converter, and then click “Add Video” button or “Add from folder” icon, your purchased or rented movies would be listed in the popup window. Select the files and then click “OK”.

Step 2. Choose a format (*.mp4) for Roku 3

Click “Format” dropdown list, set a format that Roku 3 supports. Roku USB channel supports video playback of mp4 and MKV, but mp4 is considered to be a relatively superior file format since its ability to compress the video while keep the video quality.

Step 3. Start iTunes to Roku 3 conversion

Click “Convert” button, you’ll open the converting box. Click “Convert” button in converting box to start to convert iTunes movies.

How do i fix Streaming Media to Roku issues?

The entertainment options are truly endless on your Roku, this is a small hockey puck electronic streaming player that brings the world of internet television to your TV. By using your broadband connection, it will stream movies and TV shows from the internet and let you watch them on your television on the cheap way. However, there are still problems when you are using this smart streaming box, aren’t there? Don’t worry! Here are five tips to keep you streaming like you’ve never streamed before!

Issue One: Not enough local file formats are supported

If you’re running into trouble using AVI files or other files and the Roku doesn’t work. Are you confused? I think this is a major problem when you are beaming your mobile’s files to Roku because the compatible formats with Roku are rare. They are MKV, MP4, MOV, WMV. What if your files are just not in this range, such as 3GP files? Under such circumstances, you will need third-party tool to help. This is what All cast is for. See how you can stream any format to Roku here

Issue Two: Video buffers or low quality

This may be the biggest problem when streaming onlinevideos and also your local files, which has a lot to do with your internetconnection. It’s recommended that the speed for each computer or device shouldbe 3 Mbps. So now you will need to test your internet speed fromhere. If the network is slow, there arestill some basic things you can do instead of changing your bandwidth. Thesemeasures include:

1.Move closer to the wireless router
2.Replace your Roku player
3.Move away from interference like the cordless phones or others
4.You are suggested to use a wired network if possible

Issue Three: Roku Freezes and Other Channel Issues

There are many reasons why channels don’t always work 100% on Roku. One common misconception is that Roku owns and builds their own channels. So when a channel goes down people often want to blame Roku. Roku does not develop any channels; they simply build and sell the hardware. Channels are all hosted on 3rd?party web servers on the internet and are built by many different developers. Channels can have issues completely unrelated to the Roku player. Just as you can’t blame your PC manufacturer when your internet connection goes down, the same is true for Roku when a channel does not work as it should.

Lower Your BitRate for Picture Quality:

When using a streaming service like Netflix and you are experiencing lock ups and stuttering, you can try lowering your bit rate which reduces your picture quality. They use dots to show picture quality. 4 dots equal (2.2Mbps) down to 1 dot for a speed of (0.5 Mbps).

NOTE: If Roku freezes when you are streaming a poorly developed channel, you will need to move to another platform or find an alternative solution. Sometimes your Roku will freeze because you are playing certain files such as MKV. To tackle this, you can try converting the files to other formats like AVI with Pavtube Video Converter Ultimate

Issue Four: Roku Purple Screen

If your Roku turns purple, try reseating the HDMI cable. Some TVs firmware handles the HDMI hand off differently and can cause issues. Also, try disconnecting the power cable from your TV and Roku if the HDMI cable swap dosen’t work. Finally you can also try swapping to a component and audio cable as this fixes the problem for many people as well. Finally if this does not work power down your Roku and your Television. Sometimes having your HDMI cable go directly to the TV or through a HDMI switch will work better than going through a receiver’s HDMI switching ports.

Tips:If you have problems on playing Blu-ray/DVDYoutube VideosISO files to Roku, you can get the all solutions.

Hope this guide can help you get out of the all of issues you have met when playing Roku and enjoy your life.
